Heightened Awareness

In professional sports, there’s a noticeable difference between the last exhibition game and the opening game of a new season. When the playoffs begin even later, that intensity again rises to a new level.

You know what I find in terms of church services? If I’ve invited a non-Christian friend to come with me, I’m far more involved in everything that’s happening. I notice how friendly people are. I want the music to be done well. And, I want the sermon to be interesting and relevant. Of course, I always want that, but when I have a friend with me who doesn’t know the Lord, I really want everything to be right.

I know this is true because I had a non-Christian friend with me recently. I noticed that my prayerful attention was right there during the entire service.

Believing that you will benefit significantly from reading it, I sincerely invite you to read my latest book entitled The Sermon Sucking Black Hole—Why You Can’t Remember on Monday What Your Minister Preached on Sunday. This book is available at Amazon.com by clicking here.

This book gives some solid tips to the people sitting in the congregation to help them remember what you’ve said from the pulpit when they come to worship services in the church where you serve as pastor.
