Body Shaming

“I like your face, the way you talk, how you think—in fact, everything from the neck up is great. But I don’t care much for your body!”

You’d never say that to a friend, would you? Especially not to an important one! But that’s the message some people communicate to the Lord. Let me explain.

When people say, “I like Jesus, I just don’t like the church!” it’s like saying to God, “I like the head, but I don’t care much for the body.”

Scripture teaches that Christ is the head of His Body, the Church. Let this be a quick reminder of the importance of the Body of Christ, and of the need to love it, to speak highly of it, to pray for it, and to do all in your power to make the Church a fit body for its most beautiful head.

I am grateful that I continue to hear how positively readers are responding to my latest book entitled The Sermon Sucking Black Hole—Why You Can’t Remember on Monday What Your Minister Preached on Sunday. This book is available at Amazon.com by clicking here.

In this book, I offer some solid tips to the people sitting in the congregation to help them remember what their pastor has said from the pulpit.
