New Sermon Illustrations and Sunday Soundbytes

Announcement

A new survey finds that one in five American teens has “sexted” … that means sent or received sexually suggestive photos through cell-phone text-messages or via e-mail. Most teens who “sexted” sent the photos to girlfriends/boyfriends—unwise—but 11% sent them to strangers—really asking for trouble.

I suppose what’s positive about this report is that four out of five, which is 80%, said they hadn’t participated in this practice. I would like to think churchgoing teens make up a big part of that group.

Guilty!

This past week, Bernard Madoff was given a sentence of 150 years for cheating investors out of $13 billion. One hundred fifty years seems like a long time, and there’s little question but what Mr. Madoff will die in prison, but his sentence is nothing compared to someone having to spend eternity apart from God. Please don’t have the great judge of the universe declare you guilty of rejecting His Son Jesus Christ. The consequences are far too grave to make that mistake.

Use my Sunday Soundbytes in your Sunday sermons or church service to convey timeless biblical truths about modern day events. You have my permission.
