Unhealthy Stresses

Some church experiences are idyllic, but not for very long. Involve human beings in any setting, and sooner or later stress will surface. If you are in a church with no stress, you’re probably a first-time visitor, or you’ve turned down every opportunity to be involved in a leadership role.

Some stress in a church is healthy. That’s right. A congregation that’s outgrown its building will probably experience stress just in the process of deciding what to do.

But I’m concerned about how to deal with stresses that are unhealthy. The key here is for everyone to talk to the Lord about problems as much or more than they talk to each other. I’ll say it again. The key here is for everyone to talk to the Lord about problems as much or more than they talk to each other. That’s the secret.

I am grateful that I continue to hear how God is using my latest book entitled The Sermon Sucking Black Hole—Why You Can’t Remember on Monday What Your Minister Preached on Sunday. This book is available at Amazon.com by clicking here.

This book gives some solid tips to the people sitting in the congregation to help them remember what you’ve said from the pulpit when they come to worship services in the church where you serve as pastor.
